Tharaka University(TUN) Vice-Chancellor & CEO, Prof. Peter K. Muriungi, paid a courtesy call to the office of the Principal Secretary for Mining, Mr. Harry Kimtai, to advance discussions on positioning the University as a Centre of Excellence in Mining — one of TUN’s key niche areas.
The engagement at the Principal Secretary for Mining offices focused on enhancing collaboration between the University and the State Department in driving the national mining agenda. Among the key highlights was a follow-up on the planned establishment of a copper processing plant at TUN.
The Principal Secretary assured Prof. Muriungi of the State Department’s full support in actualizing this vision, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthening mining research, training, and innovation to contribute to national development.
