Tharaka University (TUN) Vice-Chancellor and CEO Prof. Peter K. Muriungi has today led the institution in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the IMAYAM Institute of Agriculture & Technology (IIAT), India, during a colourful ceremony held at TUN. The event was graced by students from IIAT who are currently visiting the university in the company of their trainers.
The partnership seeks to foster mutual growth through collaboration in key areas such as agriculture, mining, research, and faculty and student exchange. It also covers joint curriculum development, community outreach, and cultural exchange, all of which aim to enhance global engagement and drive societal transformation through education and research.
Present during the signing were Mr. Andi, Chairman of IMAYAM Group of Institutions; Mr. Janarthanan, Managing Director of IMAYAM Group of Institutions; and Dr. Raja Krishnamoorthi, Director of International Relations at Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE), India. TUN was also represented by Prof. Veronica Nyaga, DVC Academic, Research and Student Affairs; Prof. Collins Miruka, DVC Administration, Finance, Planning and Development; Ms. Miriam Wepukhulu, CoD Department of Dryland Agriculture & Natural Resources; and Dr. Urbanus Ndolo, Director of Resource Mobilization.
This collaboration is significant in TUN’s commitment to academic excellence, internationalization, and global partnerships.
