Tharaka University (TUN) has commenced its one-week guided orientation programme for newly admitted first-year students. This programme is structured to comprehensively immerse and guide the first-year cohort in all aspects of university life, including ICT services, student finance, catering services, accommodation services, and other essential university functions.
The morning session was facilitated by Dr. Robert Mburunga, a guest speaker from Umma University, who addressed the topics of healthy relationships, sexuality, and deviance. Dr. Mburunga advised students to maintain strong connections with their families while fostering appropriate social interactions within the university environment to promote their overall well-being.
Prof. Njoka Mugendi, DOS-UOE, facilitated the afternoon session. He explained life on campus and personal finance to the students. He urged the freshmen and women to prioritize important things and avoid misusing Helb money in betting and other activities.
TUN is committed to ensuring all students receive services and facilities at their best to ensure a smooth transition to their new academic home. We welcome all the students to attend our tailored programme for the whole week. This is the first step in transforming curiosity into clarity and potential into excellence.
The event was attended by the Registrar AA & Registrar AFPD, Dean of Students, Deans of Faculties, Chair of Departments, Directors, Student leaders, and the new students.
