Tharaka University (TUN) Vice Chancellor and CEO, Prof. Peter K. Muriungi, led the institution today in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bloom Bells Charity, a registered non-profit organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities, particularly children, through education, essential supplies, and empowerment initiatives.

This collaboration marks a significant step toward leveraging technology and community outreach for sustainable development. The MoU establishes a framework for developing an AI Hub at TUN, which will serve as a regional center for innovation, digital literacy, and skills training. Additionally, both parties will jointly implement structured outreach programs, including food and sanitary aid, school infrastructure projects, and mentorship initiatives to uplift marginalized groups.

Under this partnership, TUN will provide the physical space for the AI Hub, mobilize technical and financial resources, and encourage participation from students and staff in outreach activities. The university’s involvement underscores its commitment to research, innovation, and inclusive socio-economic growth.

The signing ceremony was attended by Bloom Bells Charity, Ms. Juster Kagendi, Director and Co-Founder, Mr. Steve Misori, General Secretary, Madam Amina Nyaga, Board Member and Chief Strategy Officer, Madam Milka Meeni – Regional Coordinator, and TUN, Dr. Mwangi Murithi- Registrar of Academic Affairs, Dr. Edward Kathuni, Ag.
