Tharaka University today marked a significant milestone in its internationalization agenda following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Tharaka University and Millersville University of Pennsylvania, USA.
The MoU was signed by Tharaka University Vice-Chancellor and CEO, Prof. Peter Kinyua Muriungi, and Dr. Gail Gasparich, Provost & Senior Vice President of Millersville University. The partnership seeks to foster mutual collaboration in academic and research exchange programmes for students and staff, alongside other areas of cooperation that will strengthen institutional growth and global engagement.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Daniel Kulmala, Assistant Vice President for International Programs and Global Engagement, and Dr. Wanja Ogongi, Assistant Professor of Social Work, representing Millersville University.


On behalf of Tharaka University, those present included Dr. Collins Sitienei (Director, Linkages and Partnerships), Dr. Urbanus Ndolo, Director, Resource Mobilization and University Advancement, Dr. David Kiptui, Director and Coordinator of Undergraduate Programmes, Dr. Ambrose Vengi, Director, Postgraduate Programmes, and Mr. Dennis Muriuki, Lecturer, School of Health Sciences.
In his remarks, Prof. Muriungi expressed delight at the partnership, noting that the collaboration will not only benefit the two institutions academically but will also promote social transformation and cultural exchange between the two communities.
This partnership reaffirms Tharaka University’s commitment to building strong global linkages, expanding research opportunities, and providing transformative international exposure to its students and staff.
