Tharaka University recorded another strong performance at the ongoing Kenya University Sports Federation National Playoffs B, with both its football and netball teams advancing to the quarter-finals.
The teams secured their spots after a tough but successful day two of competition held at Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
Tharaka’s football side displayed resilience on the pitch drawing 1-1 with Machakos University in their opening match of the day and despite falling 2-0 against Kibabii University, they qualified to the knockout stages. They will now battle Kenyatta University in the quarter finals.
The institution’s Netball team delivered a commanding performance thrashing University of Nairobi 13-08 to book their place in the quarter finals where they will square it out with Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology.
Tharaka University continues to grow in sporting stature and will be hoping to go one better in the knockout stages.
