Tharaka University (TUN) successfully hosted a vibrant Kiswahili Conference that brought together learners from primary schools, secondary schools, and universities in a celebration of language, culture, and academic excellence. Organized in collaboration with Radio Maisha, the event created a platform for meaningful dialogue on the growth, relevance, and future of Kiswahili in competency-based education and national development.

Tharaka University Vice-Chancellor and CEO, Prof. Peter Kinyua Muriungi, in his address, emphasized the importance of Competency-Based Education (CBE) in nurturing talents and enhancing critical thinking among learners. He noted that key components of CBE, including skills development, creativity, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving, are instrumental in addressing contemporary societal challenges.
The TUN Vice Chancellor Prof. Muriungi reaffirmed the University’s commitment to implementing CBE as a pathway to producing innovative and solution-oriented graduates.
Prof. John Kobia of Chuka University observed that CBE not only enhances academic performance but also promotes moral values among learners.
