Tharaka University rugby team posted an exceptional performance at the BingwaFest 2.0 Central Region Championships, finishing as Silver Men Winners (First Runners-Up) after an impressive and competitive journey to the finals.
Team TUN demonstrated dominance and consistency from the early stages of the tournament, registering strong wins in the preliminary and knockout rounds to book a place in the semifinals. The team went on to secure a hard-fought semifinal victory, earning a well-deserved spot in the final played on 21st December 2025, at Kinoru Stadium, Meru, where they faced stiff competition in a thrilling encounter.
Although they narrowly missed out on the top prize, Tharaka University emerged as Central Region Silver Winners, walking away with a KShs. 500,000 award, a trophy, and regional recognition for their discipline, teamwork, and fighting spirit throughout the tournament.
This achievement underscores Tharaka University’s steady rise in competitive sports and reflects the institution’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded students through academic excellence, talent development, and high-performance sports.
