Tharaka University (TUN) Taekwondo team ‘DESERT COBRA’ has made a powerful and remarkable progress mark on the 1st day of the two-day Easter Chairman’s Cup Taekwondo Championship, organized by the Mombasa County Taekwondo Association, which is currently taking place at Aga Khan Academy Mombasa.
With eyes firmly set on the trophy and the cash prize, the team has displayed exceptional discipline, strength, and competitive spirit on the mat, proudly flying TUN’s flag high through the determined DESERT COBRA team.
In the Juniors Category, the team delivered an outstanding performance, bagging four medals 1 Gold, 2 Silver, and 1 Bronze, and clinching the Overall Trophy as 1st Runners-Up. This remarkable achievement reflects the hard work of the athletes and the unwavering support that Tharaka University continues to provide in nurturing sporting talent.
With the juniors’ games now concluded, attention shifts to the senior category set for tomorrow, where the Desert Cobra team will once again step onto the mat, determined to keep the momentum alive. The University community proudly celebrates the juniors’ success, as the focus now turns to the seniors to continue flying the Tharaka University flag even higher.
