Tharaka University (TUN) is showcasing its innovative potential at the 5th Innovation Week and Industry Summit hosted by KCA University

Tharaka University (TUN) is showcasing its innovative potential at the 5th Innovation Week and Industry Summit hosted by KCA University under the theme “Learn! Lead! Transform: Where Ideas Meet Industry, Where Innovation Creates Impact.” The summit brings together innovators, students, academics and industry players to explore how ideas can be transformed into practical solutions with real-world impact.

The University is represented by six teams drawn from different faculties, including the School of Law, Education and Computer Science.

On the second day, featuring pitching sessions, exhibitions and panel discussions, discussions on big data, data analytics and the application of artificial untelligence (AI) in universities took centre stage. A key takeaway was that as machines increasingly emulate human capabilities, people must strengthen the uniquely human qualities that drive innovation.

Speakers emphasised that AI will not necessarily replace people, but may render those who fail to adapt their skills redundant. Curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, ethical judgement and the ability to turn ideas into practical, commercially viable solutions will remain essential in todays and tomorrow’s workplace. Students were urged to integrate AI responsibly into their learning and research.

The TUN delegation is led by the Director of Career Services, Ms. Maureen Ndagara, alongside Mr. Denis Ng’ang’a, ODeL Instructional Designer.
