Day Two of the Financial Literacy and Best Agricultural Practices Training Workshop was successfully held at Tharaka University, continuing to equip members of Nkondi United SACCO with practical skills in financial management, governance, and digital transformation. The workshop remains a vital platform for empowering participants with knowledge that enhances sustainable economic growth and modern agricultural practices.
The second day of the four-day training featured insightful sessions on Governance and Financial Accountability facilitated by Dr. Viona Muleke, Financial Statements and Interpretation facilitated by Mr. Duncan Kiragu, and Digital Financial Management facilitated by Dr. Tumaini Mwikamba all drawn from the Faculty of Business Studies.
The interactive sessions equipped participants with practical skills to strengthen accountability, enhance financial decision-making through proper interpretation of financial statements, and leverage digital financial tools for improved SACCO operations and sustainable economic growth.
Among the SACCO notable leaders in attendance were Mr. Simon Mutui, Chairperson of Nkondi United SACCO; Mr. Japhet Muriungi, Vice Chairperson; and Ms. Cecyliah Karimi, Secretary, underscoring the SACCO leadership’s commitment to promoting sound governance and financial literacy among its members.
The four-day programme, running from 21st to 24th July 2026, reflects Tharaka University’s continued commitment to community engagement by providing transformative knowledge that empowers communities through quality education, research, innovation, and capacity building.
