KUSF Central Conference Second Leg

Tharaka University has demonstrated remarkable sportsmanship during the second leg of the Kenya University Sports Federation (KUSF) Central Conference playoffs, currently underway at the University of Embu on 14th and 15th March. Team TUN is proudly competing in women’s football, women’s basketball, women’s handball, and men’s volleyball, showcasing determination and teamwork across all disciplines.
In the day’s matches, the women’s football team secured a 1–0 victory against KU before drawing 0–0 with UoEM. In women’s handball, TUN registered mixed results, 10–18 to MUST, but bounced back with a 13–10 win over SEKU. The women’s basketball team recorded close contests, narrowly losing 19–22 to KeMU and 16–19 to KYU, while the men’s volleyball team, competing in best-of-five sets, went down 3–1 to UoEM, 3–1 to MUST, and a big win of 3–0 to SEKU. More matches continue tomorrow as our teams push forward in the final rounds of the Central Conference playoffs.
Their participation and performance reaffirm Tharaka University’s commitment to co-curricular excellence, nurturing well-rounded students through sports while advancing talent development and holistic education.
The teams are accompanied by Mr. Bonface Kimathi Gichunge, Sports Officer, Mr. Moses Wamuuru, Admin Assistant in the DoS Office, and Mr. Felix Kenyatta, Male Sports Representative – Central Conference, alongside the respective team coaches and captains.
