Tharaka University (TUN) proudly marked its debut at the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition, held at the Supreme Court of Kenya from 17th to 18th March 2026. The University’s law students actively participated in the highly competitive national rounds, gaining valuable exposure in mooting, legal pleading, and advocacy. The two-day event brought together members of the Judiciary, law schools, legal scholars, and key stakeholders, creating a dynamic platform for academic exchange and professional growth.
This year’s National Rounds attracted participants from ten universities, underscoring the rising interest in Space Policy and Law in Kenya. Beyond celebrating academic excellence, the competition plays a vital role in equipping aspiring legal professionals with practical skills in an emerging and globally relevant field.
In attendance was Daniel Musinga, President of the Court of Appeal, who emphasized the increasing importance of space law amid expanding global space activities. Team TUN was led by Dr. Charles Mwirigi, Ag. Dean of the Faculty of Law, alongside three dedicated law students.
