Tharaka University (TUN) Vice Chancellor and CEO, Prof. Peter K. Muriungi, alongside his counterpart, Mr. John Paul Okwiri, the CEO of Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA), successfully led the two institutions in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in a colorful ceremony that took place at Konza City.
Ahead of the signing ceremony, the TUN Vice Chancellor, Prof. Muriungi, paid a courtesy call to the office of the CEO of KoTDA, Mr. John Paul Okwiri, where they held a meaningful discussion focused on the best interests of both institutions and opportunities for impactful collaboration.
The MoU is meant to establish a framework of cooperation between TUN and KoTDA in areas such as science, climate change, engineering, the creative economy, and emerging technologies. It will facilitate joint initiatives, including research and innovation, digital skills development through programs such as the Konza Jitume initiative, technology transfer, student and staff exchange, and joint conferences, exhibitions, and curriculum development.
Tharaka University continues to seek and strengthen strategic partnerships that will benefit its students, staff, and the wider community by enhancing academic excellence, promoting innovation, and creating opportunities that align with industry needs and global trends.
