Tharaka University (TUN) Vice-Chancellor/CEO, Prof. Peter K. Muriungi, Ph.D., today received officials from the Ministry of Education’s State Department for Higher Education, who paid a courtesy call to his office ahead of a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) exercise at the University.
The visit aims to assess the progress made in implementing ongoing higher education reforms anchored on the recommendations of the Presidential Working Party on Education Reform. According to the Ministry, insights gathered from the exercise will play a key role in informing higher education policies and programmes across the country.
During the engagement, the Ministry officials evaluated the University’s strides in aligning its academic, administrative, and governance systems with the reform agenda. Discussions also focused on enhancing institutional effectiveness and improving service delivery.
Later in the afternoon, the officials held an interactive session with students from the School of Law, providing a platform for learners to share their views and recommendations on how university education can be further improved.
The visit underscores Tharaka University’s continued commitment to accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence in higher education.
Those present included Prof. Veronica K. Nyaga, DVC ARSA, Dr. Edward Kathuni, Registrar A&P, Dr. Daniel Mwangi, Registrar AA, Mr. Anthony Mutegi, Finance Officer, faculty members, and other members of staff.
