Champions' spirit, unwavering resilience, and exceptional teamwork defined Tharaka University’s performance at the KUSA Central Staff Games held at Meru University of Science and Technology on 6th June 2026. Following months of disciplined training, Team Tharaka rose to the occasion, delivering a dominant display that saw the University emerge champions in Ladies' Netball, Men's Volleyball, and Women's Volleyball.
The competition was fiercely contested, but Tharaka University's staff teams showcased determination, skill, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. The Men's Football team mounted a spirited campaign, reaching the semi-finals before narrowly bowing out in a penalty shootout after an impressive run.
Adding to the University's growing sporting profile, Team Tharaka also made a remarkable debut in indoor games, competing in Scrabble (Men and Women), Pool Table, Chess, and Badminton, further demonstrating the institution's commitment to nurturing talent across diverse sporting disciplines.
A special mention goes to the Men’s Volleyball team, whose resilience and consistency saw them remain unbeaten throughout the day, sealing their title-winning campaign in commanding fashion.
Tharaka University competed alongside fellow institutions including Chuka University, Karatina University, Kisii University, University of Embu, KCA University, and Machakos University.
