Tharaka University (TUN) has successfully concluded its participation in the Africa Public Service Day (APSD) 2026 National Celebrations held from 22nd to 23rd June 2026 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi, under the theme: “Enhancing Public Sector Institutions and Empowering Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships to Achieve Universal Water Availability and Safe Sanitation by 2063.”
The event culminated in an awarding ceremony presided over by the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes, Hon. Geoffrey Ruku. In his remarks, the Cabinet Secretary underscored the need for public institutions to deliver timely, responsive, and citizen-centered services, noting that the Government is continuously transforming the public service to meet emerging demands and future challenges. He further commended public institutions for embracing innovation as a key driver of efficient and effective service delivery.
Throughout the celebrations, Tharaka University showcased cutting-edge research, innovations, and technology-driven solutions that address societal challenges and contribute to national development. The University’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to excellence in research, innovation, knowledge generation, and community impact.
This commitment was further demonstrated by the University’s recent recognition as the Best Public University during the Productivity and Performance Conference, a testament to its dedication to quality service delivery, institutional excellence, and transformative innovation.
