Tharaka University has won the Best Digital Innovation in the Education Sector category and second runner-up on Overall Digital Transformation Organization of the year at the Digital Transformation Public Sector Forum and Awards (DTPS ).
The forum and awards are an initiative of Greydale Africa in collaboration with the Ministry of ICT and Digital Economy. The event held at PrideInn Mombasa brings together ministers, principal secretaries, chief executives, board members and heads of ICT from public sector institutions, as well as partners in the ICT sector.
The forum provides a platform for discussions on digital transformation in the public sector. The awards recognise institutions that have developed and implemented innovative technology solutions in their respective sectors.
Tharaka University was represented by Prof. Veronica Nyaga, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Research and Students Affairs; Mr. Kevin Tuei, the Director, Open, Distance and e-Learning (ODeL).
The University’s recognition in the Best Digital Innovation in the Education Sector category highlights its efforts in applying digital technology to support teaching, learning and access to education.
Last Saturday, on September 26th, Tharaka University won the Institutional Excellence and Transformation award at the Jamhuri Africa Campus and TVET Awards in Nairobi.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Muriungi, was also recognised for Excellence in Institutional Leadership and Transformation during the awards ceremony in Nairobi.
Tharaka University student leaders also won awards in various categories.
