Njuri Ncheke elders have officially blessed Tharaka University’s Mukothima Centre, endorsing its establishment and pledging support towards the expansion of university education in Tharaka Nithi.
During a special sitting, the elders called for stronger collaboration between Tharaka University, the government and the local community to support the growth of the centre into a fully established hub of higher learning.
Tharaka University Vice Chancellor and CEO, Prof. Peter Kinyua Muriungi, said the centre is key to bringing higher education closer to learners while enhancing access to opportunities and boosting youth employability in the region.
The Centre’s Director, Dr. Faustin Muchui, noted the growing interest from the community, reflecting the demand for accessible university education closer to the people.
The elders also expressed their support for President William Ruto and Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki, while inviting the President to visit Tharaka University and witness the institution’s growth and contribution to the region.
Endorsement and pledge of support by the elders reaffirm a shared commitment among Tharaka University, the government and the local community to expand access to quality higher education, empower the region’s youth and drive sustainable socio-economic development, with each stakeholder playing a collective role in advancing the growth of the Mukothima Centre.
