Tharaka University today marked Day One of the three-day 8th Annual International Research Conference, with the Vice-Chancellor and CEO, Prof. Peter K. Muriungi, PhD, officially opening the conference.
The conference has brought together researchers, scholars and students from Kenya and beyond under the theme:
“Building Resilient Communities: Research and Innovation for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development.”
The day’s keynote speaker was Prof. John Kanyaru, Principal Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom.
Prof. Kanyaru delivered a keynote presentation on the topic:
“The Tharaka Advantage: How Rural Kenya Can Lead Africa’s AI-Native Future.”
His presentation explored the opportunities for harnessing artificial intelligence and digital transformation to unlock the potential of rural Kenya and contribute to Africa’s technology-driven future.
