Tharaka University (TUN) Vice Chancellor/CEO, Prof. Peter K. Muriungi, warmly received Mr. Johann (Hannes) Thaler, Co-founder and Managing Director of Forests4Farming (F4F), a Germany-based non-profit organization, who paid a courtesy call to his office ahead of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony.
In a landmark move, TUN entered into a MoU with BloomBells Charity and Forests4Farming (F4F) to advance syntropic agroforestry and promote sustainable, climate-smart agriculture in Kenya and beyond.
This partnership brings together academic excellence, community engagement, and global expertise to support training, research, and the practical implementation of innovative farming systems that enhance food security, biodiversity, and rural livelihoods.
The collaboration will facilitate hands-on training, joint research, and the establishment of demonstration plots, empowering students, farmers, and communities with essential knowledge and skills in sustainable land use and climate resilience.
Speaking during the engagement, the University reaffirmed its commitment to integrating innovation, research, and sustainability into its academic and community programs, while strengthening global partnerships that deliver meaningful impact.
This MoU marks a significant step in positioning Tharaka University as a hub for transformative agricultural innovation and sustainable development.
