Tharaka University (TUN) successfully held the 4th Edition of its Annual Cultural Week from 13th to 16th October 2025, themed “Leveraging Cultural Diversities for Patriotism and National Cohesion.”
The week-long celebration brought together students, staff, and guests from across the country to showcase Kenya’s rich cultural heritage through traditional performances, cultural exhibitions, and creative displays.
The event’s grand finale was graced by the Vice-Chancellor and CEO, Prof. Peter K. Muriungi, who led the awarding ceremony and emphasized the importance of cultural preservation. Quoting Marcus Garvey, he noted, “A people without knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.”
Prof. Muriungi added that culture remains relevant in contemporary society, highlighting how nations like Japan and China continue to embrace their traditions while driving innovation and development.
Tharaka University continues to uphold its commitment to fostering unity in diversity, patriotism, and national cohesion through such cultural initiatives.
