Tharaka University (TUN) Chancellor, Prof. Ratemo W. Michieka, today visited the University’s exhibition booth at the ongoing inaugural Science, Technology, Research & Innovation for Society (STRI4SOCIETY) Week 2026 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi. The exhibition is being held under the theme, “Igniting Innovation: Bridging Science and Society for Sustainable Development.”
During the tour, the Chancellor interacted with TUN student and staff innovators, showcasing various research and innovation projects aimed at addressing societal challenges through science and technology. He commended the innovators for their creativity, commitment, and dedication to developing practical and sustainable solutions that contribute to national development.
The five-day exhibition is set to conclude tomorrow, with outstanding innovators and exhibitors expected to be recognized and awarded for their exceptional contributions to research, technology, and innovation. The Chief Guest during the closing ceremony will be Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, who will also officiate the launch of the Masterplan for Research Financing and Capacity Strengthening.
Tharaka University continues to strengthen its position as a key player in national and international conversations on solving societal challenges through research, innovation, and technological advancement.
